The best thing on the Internet right now is this sweded version (aka no budget remake) of the new Star Wars trailer. These die hard fans, Fresno California-based comedy group Dumb Drum, recreated the trailer shot for shot with gloriously low budget creativity. I love this so much (sweded films, not necessarily Star Wars). Watch it below.

This summer we released our first-ever Booooooom book, “Remake”, chronicling our massive art project in which people all over the world re-created master works of art. Thank you to all the publications that have written about the book, the response has been unreal.
I’d like to take this opportunity to highlight a selection of the incredible submissions that did not end up in the final version of the book. In a perfect world, everyone’s work would have been printed in the book but I simply did not have the budget to secure image rights to all the original master works of art to be able to include everything (this was very painful for me during the editing process). I actually gave up my entire book advance from Chronicle Books to get the rights to as many works as I could.
Below are 50 terrific submissions to our remake project, none of which you will see as you flip through the book. Note: I arbitrarily picked the number 50 for this article; this list could probably be twice as long.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this project, I am convinced that we have the most talented (and active) creative community on the Internet. Have a look at the works below.
IT’S FINALLY HERE.
After years (literally years) making the first-ever Booooooom book it has finally been released! You can purchase this on Amazon (and Amazon.ca and Indigo) and pretty much wherever quality books are sold! If you have a shop and want to carry our book that would be awesome, please contact Chronicle Books (if you’re in Canada contact Raincoast Books).
We’re giving away 2 books on our Instagram and another copy here. All you have to do is leave a comment below with a link to your favourite Booooooom post from 2015 so far. We’ll pick a winner in a week!
Thank you to everyone who has art in here, your books are all being mailed to you!
Allow me to be the first to tell you that I am beginning work on the first-ever Booooooom book! The best part of it is that it’s gonna be published by one of my favourite publishers, Chronicle Books!
Chronicle Books has approached me to turn our Remake Project into a book. If you missed it, this was the project where we had everyone remaking masterworks of art as photographs.
The project was shared by hundreds of blogs and major news outlets including Huffington Post, Yahoo News, AOL, MSNBC, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The MOMA, The Guardian (two different articles), Reader’s Digest, you get the idea. It was HUGE.
So what I want to do is turn all of your amazing submissions into an incredible art book. It is not gonna be cheap to produce this thing, doing this the right way means getting the image rights to reproduce all the classic works. Hopefully we will be able to secure the rights to 50 classic works.
As a contributor to this book you won’t be paid but you will receive two copies of the finished book. At the end of the day, the point of the book is for more people to see the amazing things you created. I also think it will just be cool to have this book as a piece of history – art history – and also Booooooom history.
If you would like to be considered for the book I would love it if you submitted! If you already made work that was featured in our gallery please re-submit it. If you are just hearing about this project for the first time and want to make something, you have until the end of January to submit work.
What I need from you is a signed release saying that we have permission to print your Remake in the book, as well as the highest resolution image that you have of your work.
1. Download the release form: here
2. Email the form and high resolution artwork with the subject line “REMAKE SUBMISSION” to: email@example.com.
Please include the following details:
THE NAME OF ORIGINAL ARTIST:
TITLE OF ORIGINAL ARTWORK:
*In order to be published in the book the artwork needs to be as high resolution as possible. If the work is too big to email, please use a service such as WeTransfer.
We will notify you if your work has been selected for the book! Thank you all for being a part of this, I’m really excited to take it further than I’ve ever taken any of the projects.
