Last month I posted that fabulous Alice video and this week I received an email from Jacques Christo. He was so inspired by the video that he went and made a downtempo track from his favourite animated film: An American Tail (great choice!).
I stumbled upon some gorgeous graphic work that I absolutely have to share. Cosh Gallery in London has a show on right now called “Now Showing”.
“40+ Creatives were given the task of creating their own interpretation of a Cult, Classic or Obscure film poster from the past, whether it be a literal or abstract solution. The result is Now Showing, an Art exhibition paying homage to more than 70 years of film, through the form of Prints, One Off Screen Prints and Sculptures.”
Hellovon, Non Format, Marian Bantjes, Tomer Hanuka, and Pure Evil are among the artists showing. Enjoy.
See a whole bunch more after the jump!
Youtube user Fagottron (am I reading that right?) has quietly released a little gem onto the net. Alice in Wonderland gets the chop-shop treatment and the result is a beautiful little downtempo track called “Alice”.
Looking for just the right thing to throw into your cd player onto your ipod to please all the hipsters coming to your BBQ? I present you a collection of remixes by the Canadian duo known as MSTRKRFT. Both dudes were associated in one way or another with the criminally slept-on band, Death From Above 1979 (Jesse was the bassist and Alex produced their second album). I don’t know how they didn’t get more popular… How many bands do you know only have a drummer and a bassist AND the drummer is the lead singer??? BAD ASS.
It is hard to deny their ability to take a mediocre, sometimes downright terrible, song and turn it into a dancefloor hammer. Enjoy the remixes and bonus videos after the jump! VIEW THE FULL POST —►
