Artists Ray Villafane and Sue Beatrice create an incredibly detailed, life-size sand sculpture of an elephant playing chess with a field mouse. FYI: the elephant’s name is Chessie Trunkston and the mouse is Hershel Higginbottom. See more images below or on display at the Sanderson Lincoln Pavillion in Carefree, Arizona until August!
Artist Simon Beck turns a walk on the beach into a work of art with these massive crop circle-inspired creations. Obviously each piece takes a huge amount of pre-planning but physically executing such intricate designs can take a full day trudging (sometimes well into the night). Click below for more incredible images from Beck’s journeys across New Zealand’s shorelines and the Swiss Alps.
Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan aka “The Rainbow Sheikh” may have just created the world’s largest tag by having his name dug into the sand in Abu Dhabi. While I think it’s really stupid looking I just wanted to point out that it is one letter short of being epic.
It can actually be seen from space (actual Google Earth image)!
