People literally ran to buy art at this year’s Cheaper Show. Folks lined up at 3am and the show didn’t open until 6pm! It was INSANE.
Watch the video below!
Another incredible Cheaper Show went down over the weekend! There will be a full video of the event but I wanted to share this photo. Those who purchased works on Saturday were encouraged to write a little note to the artist! What a great idea!
The Cheaper Show. 6PM. Saturday. 188 Kingsway. If you went last year you know you are going to want to come early. (Yes, this is my fridge.)
Aaron De La Cruz and Sam Rodriguez invade Above Second Gallery next Friday! If you’re out there in Hong Kong do not miss Mano Y Mano.
I just received news that Sraunus will be shown in North America for the first time at Drop In/Drop Out / BYOB Vancouver!
Full details below!
Spoke Art is putting on a fun show next month at Bold Hype Gallery in New York, called “Quentin vs Coen”. Ben Kehoe, Sam Wolfe Connelly, Max Dalton, and more than 100 other artists will be showing work inspired by the films of Quentin Tarantino and the Coen Brothers.
My good friend Jasper Wong (host of our Small Victories show in Hong Kong) is at it again! He has organized a wonderful event called Pow Wow in Oahu, Hawaii and I get to fly out there and be a part of it!
Jasper and I will be joining international artists Will Barras (London), Meggs (Melbourne), Wu Yue (Paris), and 123Klan (Montreal), as well as local artists Prime, Ekundayo, and Kamea Hadar.
The artists will be painting a venue called Loft in Space from February 16 to 19 and during this time the public is encouraged to come and interact with the artists while they work! The show will open the evening of February 19 with a huge celebration.
Following the event, a selection of the artists will develop graphics based on their experiences in Hawaii and a limited-edition capsule collection will be released in collaboration with Incase and In4mation.
Essentially it’s going to be the best vacation disguised as work EVER! I’ll be posting more about this as we get closer to the event but keep your eye on the POW WOW BLOG.
Below are a few of the hooligans involved!
