After 25 years of secrecy, The Simpsons creator Matt Groening has revealed to Smithsonian Magazine that the show’s fictional town of Springfield was actually based in… wait for it… Oregon!

Eventhough I stopped caring about the show a long time ago it was my favourite show growing up and revealing this is almost blasphemy! What do you think?

Simpsons intro gets a makeover!

The Simpsons will now be shown widescreen (HD) and to celebrate this they finally made some changes to their intro! Granted I haven’t watched the show for several seasons now (and the movie was an utter disappointment) it is still fun to spot all the little additions of  new references and characters. The episode has already aired on the east coast and will air here in a couple hours.

Karen Caldicott

Back in 2002 I came across a great issue of Shift Magazine (a now defunct Canadian mag similar to Wired) which featured clay busts of the whole Simpsons family. I loved them so much, I immediately tore out the pages and stuck them on my wall. They are actually still on my wall, and last month I was thinking about scanning them to put them up here but I realised I didn’t even know who had created them.
