Project #4 – Instructions!

Alright boys and girls Project #4 is here – Design a skateboard for Booooooom! The good folks over at Popdeck made this one possible, so a big thank you to them. This is your chance to design a skateboard and have it sent to you! One month from now I will select the three most creative submissions and then we’ll have a vote. The winning submission will be made available on Popdeck, for the extremely low price of $35, and the winner will receive their own skateboard via mail – free of charge! Accepting submissions until October 25th.

The design can have as much or as little to do with Booooooom as you want but it must be original work! Just be creative!

The film is a peek into the life of Don Pendleton whose breadth of amazing artwork for Alien Workshop alone is staggering, let alone his work for Element and other companies. Below are some of the faces you’ll see in the film – all singing Pendleton’s (well-deserved) praises. View the trailer after the jump!

Skateboards and laserbeams!

Keeping with the laser theme my good friend, Damion Silver sent me over some sample photos of the laser-etched skateboards he created. I believe there will be an extremely limited run available on Digital Gravel next week! Stay tuned! Now all we need is some sharks with frickin’ lasers attached to their heads.

Have a look at the full board after the jump!

I love Vancouver.

Saturday was a busy day – I was showing a photo as part of Color Magazine’s “A Rolling Perspective” group show, and also trying to brave the crowds and make my way over to Emily Carr’s grad show opening. But before all that, I beetled down to Gastown to meet up with the homies.
