At long last, here is the official trailer for Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel” in all its glory. The first thing I noticed was the 4:3 aspect ratio, apparently the film was shot in three different aspect ratios to represent the three different time periods that the film takes place in. Watch the trailer below!
I told you guys on my Instagram that this was coming and here it is, a Moonrise Kingdom giveaway! Not to throw it in everyone’s faces who are stuck in cities where the film still hasn’t opened but it is amazing. That’s all I’ll say, I won’t spoil it. I actually have two prize packs to give away so there will be two winners, who wants ‘em?
The Criterion Edition of Bottle Rocket was released this month and The A.V. Club has just posted a great interview with Wes Anderson. I was surprised to learn that he is a fan of Quentin Tarantino! YES. FINALLY. In all my running around and vacationing during August I missed the exciting announcement that a Criterion edition of Bottle Rocket will finally be released on November 25th 2008. Of course it will get the full Criterion treatment and come with extras galore, including the original thirteen-minute black-and-white Bottle Rocket short film from 1992.
