Epic live performance of “Volcano” by the always incredible, Woodkid. Recorded at Zenith de Paris and directed by Katya Mokolo. Woodkid has also (finally) recorded a studio version of the instrumental track, which is currently available for free download on his website! Full video and link below!
“The Golden Age” is the final single and video from Woodkid’s debut album, and it is a stunner. He collaborated with composer Max Richter here so the music you hear is actually a blending of “The Golden Age” with a new version of Richter’s “Embers”.
Woodkid, whose real name is Yoann Lemoine, is simply operating on an entirely different level from everyone else. The guy’s only 31; he releases a concept album in a time where most artists are only concerned with singles, directs all his own videos (all of which were brilliant), oh, and found time to be Pharrell’s creative director.
I love his choice for the album’s videos to slowly change from really slick, effects-heavy, spectacles to the exact opposite. This is the type of video that gets me excited about photography.
