Between intimate memories and vague reminiscences, France based artist Bastien Pery explores a multiplicity of life fragments. His process consists in a graphic restitution, a pictorial reinterpretation of the vivid emotions of some past moments, sometimes fleeting. Bastien uses personal or unknown photographs, always marked by a certain nostalgia, to which he will successively add filters, accentuating the brightness of the lights and the depth of the shadows. The use of a precise algorithm allows him to create a subtle diffuse rendering, almost cloudy, the past being only a distant mirage. The treatment coming to alter the integrity of these photographs, the suppression of the colors comes to sublimate this character aged and erased by time, leaving a parallel version of the first image.
