Cross-breeding influential figures of the 1950s as an expression of greater psyche, in “Hybrid,” the celebrities are stripped of their statuses, unveiling bases of human core.
Recognising subjects such as Lucille Ball & Doris Day, perhaps even the eye of Marlon Brando, their likenesses act only as vessels for an underlying anima. “Hybrid” amplifies the depths of untold desire - portraying states of longing, lust, & distortion.
The parallels between the personalities & defining notions of the photographs lie as cosmic serendipity, highlighting the prominence & span of inner ego, as a limitless & inevitable phenomena.
I work as a modern day Surrealist, & in belief that a subject exceeds as canvas into creation. Hand-embroidery, on top of digital collage, providing medium for artistry & communication.
