Our oceans are turning into dumpsters. Each and every minute the equivalent of one garbage truck worth of plastic is dumped into the ocean. Uncontained Consumption features a collection of photo paintings depicting the human impact of our consumption on oceans and lakes, using the very containers no longer able to secure our waste on land. Each image in this series is a digital composite inspired by an original landscape photograph of a beach or body of water. Using bits and pieces of photographs of dumpster walls, images are digitally collaged using Photoshop, resulting in new oceanscapes. The images in Uncontained Consumption represent the turning of our oceans into dumpsters - both metaphorically and literally.
