One garbage truck worth of plastic is dumped into the ocean each and every minute. Oceans are becoming consumed by our waste in the form of plastic water bottles, mylar and latex balloons, fishing gear, fabric fibers and dyes, single-use plastics, cigarette butts, and more. Uncontained Consumption features a collection of photo paintings depicting the human impact of our consumption of goods on our oceans and lakes using the walls of dumpsters as paint. Using bits and pieces of photos taken of dumpster walls, new images of oceans and beaches are created. These images speak to our inability to contain our consumption of goods literally consumes our oceans and lakes, transforming them into dumpsters.
