Norton Pease (American, b.1972) is an artist who lives and works in the Deep South as a painter, Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, and a Professor of Art in the Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art at Georgia Southern University. His work synthesizes socio-political statements through imagery that challenges the viewer to contend with social norms and constructs. His practice explores the connections of the past with the present, combining old and new.
Norton received his MFA in Painting from Washington University in St. Louis in 1999, and his work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Most recently, Norton received the Chianciano Art Museum Prize at the Biennale Museo D'Arte Di Chianciano Terme, Italy (2022).
