The Art & Sole silent auction is now online! I was one of 30+ artists who took part in the show, customizing a pair of PF Flyers. We are now auctioning off the work as a way of raising a bit of money for Arts Umbrella, a fantastic program here in Vancouver that provides arts education for kids regardless of financial situation. If you pop over to the site and place a bid on a shoe or purchase the book, you are supporting some great artists and more importantly supporting a vital arts program!

If anyone bids on my shoes 25% goes directly to Arts Umbrella, and I will also donate my artist share (66%) to them as well.

After much deliberation with the guys at Weloveyouso we have finally picked the winners of our Wild Things’ Forts contest!

Grand Prize Winner: Congratulations to Eric Rice, you have won the “Where The Wild Things Are” Xbox and a bus shelter-size poster! Your fort was just ridiculous! It had a freakin’ third floor!!!

“I spent the long weekend building my fort out old pallets and other discarded materials. I didn’t use any nails or screws to build the actual fort, it’s lashed together with hundreds of feet of string, and is surprisingly sturdy, even on the third floor. I had an awesome time building it, and hope you guys do some more contests in the future.” – Eric

Craig Atkinson just sent me over a whole bunch of wicked zines from his wonderful publishing company Café Royal. Included are his books Reward, and Zero Gravity, Café Royal 4, Photodiaries by Paul Paper, Welcome to Prison by Zeroten, and The Shaved Guy by Lin Yi-Hsuan. If you’re into zines Café Royal may give you a heart attack.

This is the final batch of forts of our Wild Things’ Forts project with Weloveyouso. We will announce the winner shortly. I have no idea how we’re going to pick! I thoroughly enjoyed going through all the submissions, and I tried to post every single fort that arrived in my inbox! You are all magnificent, thank you for making this such a fun site to work on.
