Eerie Dioramas by artist Mathieu Schmitt

mathieuschmitt20

“Glitched” is a series of 3D printed dioramas in smoked glass cubes by artist Mathieu Schmitt. The artist allows for the 3D model data to become corrupt in such a way that objects are printed slightly deformed. The late-night settings and the misshapen objects create quite an eerie atmosphere. Found via our September Submissions.

  • Dieu

    perfect

  • Neuroapathetic

Very cool! It feels as though I’m out for a walk after the first snowfall of the season. Love it!

  • Bastian

Reminds me of Canadian artist David Hoffos. And I think Hoffos’ work is even better…

  • Jack Luke

It’s like a cheeky wee Gregory Crewdson photo in 3D.

    Awesome!

  • I love how evocative these are. The lack of context with the askew details really sets off my mind wanting to fill in the blanks of everything. Also can’t forget to praise those oh so sexy black filter boxes. Really Cool!
