“We are Narcisses” by Chloé Curé and Bertrand Lanthiez is an anti-selfie mirror, created with the help of some water and a speaker. The longer the viewers look at themselves, the more distorted their image becomes. Watch the video below.

  • I see this two ways, the obvious being that it blurs your face to thwart our narcissistic tendencies a la, “Where’s my beautiful face!!! D:” (that grating buzzing sound definitely helps with this too), or secondly, as a much more beautiful way to defuse our self-absorbed focus in a sort of meditative way. I find the idea of looking into my reflection and watching the lines that hold myself distinct from my own surroundings slowly disappear to be very interesting.
