Wayne White’s Wayne-O-Rama

wayne-white-wayneorama

Artist Wayne White has returned home to Chattanooga to create a huge year-long installation called Wayne-O-Rama, and the show opens on Saturday, November 19th. You may know him as the guy who won 3 Emmys for his art direction on Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, or maybe you recognize his fantastic text paintings that spread all over the Internet. If neither of these things rings a bell, you should (you must) watch the documentary Beauty Is Embarrassing.

I had the pleasure of meeting Wayne and his wife Mimi out in Hawaii a couple years ago, and we built some cardboard sculptures together. He’s one of the most creative people I’ve ever met and has a real passion for making art fun. If you happen to live in Tennessee you gotta go see this show!
