This surreal music video for Ten Walls “Walking With Elephants” feels like it all takes place in a Pink Floyd album cover. Watch the video below.
Matthias Pfeiffer filmed most of this on a train ride between Valencia and Barcelona. Although I grabbed a frame from a portion of the video where he uses the mirror effect I actually prefer the parts where he employs other more subtle editing; specifically the part near the beginning where the flickering of the lights goes to the beat.
Watch the video for Unifono’s “Flight of Fancy” below.
I don’t know how director Daniel Wolfe does it but his work is consistently flawless. You may recall his video for Chase & Status’ “Blind Love” (see it here) where he essentially made a 90s rave period piece, shot on VHS, that everyone thought was actual footage from the 90s.
This video for Paolo Nutini is set in a dystopian future where everyone gets headaches and smokes something called Aurora. There’s not much in the way of story here, but there’s something so compelling about this extremely bleak portrait.
Watch “Iron Sky” below. Slightly not work-safe, brief nudity.
I feel like most of my favourite videos this year are black and white! Director Bob Harlow and the DP Jackson Hunt channeled some Mark Romanek 99 Problems vibes here. Watch the video for Jake Bugg’s “There’s A Beast And We All Feed It” below.
