I’ve always wanted to see Jon Boam’s illustrations brought to life and now thanks to animator Kalle Kotila I have! Watch this little music video for TJH87 below.
Benjamin Verdoes (formerly of Mt. Saint Helens Vietnam Band, and half of Iska Dhaaf) released a solo album at the beginning of the year called “The Evil Eye” and I’m excited to premiere the first video from the album.
“So Bari” is sung entirely in Somali and the video, directed by Tristan Seniuk, feels very much like a play as it features a series of tableaus of an imaginary place. Some nice art direction here; they did a lot with very little. Watch the video below!

Ophir Kutiel aka Kutiman, is the Youtube generation’s DJ Shadow. He scours Youtube for obscure musical treasures; kids playing piano, guitar tutorials, anything he can use to make a song. Somehow he is able to weave the unrelated clips into something completely new. I’ve blogged about him numerous times but it all started with his project Thru You.
5 years later, Kutiman is set to release his follow up, Thru You Too, and his first single “Give It Up” is a masterpiece. Watch the video below!
Chaz Bundick, better known as Toro y Moi, is also known as Les Sins and is set to release his debut album “Michael” in November, under the dance music moniker. I really enjoyed this video for his lead single “Bother”, directed by Harrys. Watch the video below!
Matthias Pfeiffer filmed most of this on a train ride between Valencia and Barcelona. Although I grabbed a frame from a portion of the video where he uses the mirror effect I actually prefer the parts where he employs other more subtle editing; specifically the part near the beginning where the flickering of the lights goes to the beat.
