Cocoon is a 360 degree x 220 degree immersive video installation and the latest from London-based animation studio, Factory Fifteen. Exhibited at the SAT Immersion Experience Symposium back in May, Cocoon represents the first attempt at 360 degree film making. In the video below, participants are placed inside a transformative, spherical space that eventually peels away.
In collaboration with 22 animation studios from all over the world, Universal Everything has created a living mural for the Sydney Opera House. While adapting cutting-edge technologies, Universal Everything encouraged a creative process intent on capturing something everyone can relate to. The hand-drawn approach, in particular, sets it apart from the kind of projections usually commissioned to light up the iconic structure. See more images and video of the project below.
Designer Joshua Davis has been creating some really cool visuals lately, experimenting with texture mapping (2D image wrapped onto a 3D object). Here he uses Tycho’s “See” video as the source and the results are way more interesting than the original Tycho video. Watch the experiment below.
