Transformative new video for The Chemical Brothers’ track “Wide Open” (featuring Beck). Kinda has an Ex Machina vibe to it! Fabulous job by directing duo Dom & Nic (aka Nic Goffey and Dominic Hawley) and dancer Sonoya Mizuno. Watch it now on Booooooom TV!
Thanks to our friends over at Monster Children for sending over one of their limited edition box sets as part of the release of their latest issue, guest edited by Jason Lee. The artist/actor/skateboarder curated a bunch of goodies including art prints by Mark Gonzales and Chris Pastras, hat by Brixton, field notebook, and a previously unreleased 7″ record featuring Beck (A side) and Grandaddy (B side).
Check out the box set here and watch their profile on him below:
Charlotte Gainsbourg feat. Beck – Heaven Can Wait. Another brilliant video directed by Keith Schofield. A single frame cannot do this video justice, wow. Lots of William Hundley references, did he help out with it?
*EDIT – I guess Schofield made this video without giving any recognition to Hundley which was disappointing to me. Then I realised that most of the shots are direct references to random images on the internet (not just Hundley’s work), this raises lots of interesting questions. How would it be different if the entire video had been sourced from Hundley’s work? Does Hundley have the right to be upset about it? If the sourced images were well-known (like the Weezer video) it would be obvious that Schofield wasn’t trying to pass these ideas off as his own, so what does it mean for him to have used really obscure images?

Mario Hugo’s fantastic work for Beck’s Modern Guilt album, that Interscope decided to pass on. I actually really like the cover art they went with (very classic) but these are really cool to see. After I found these I figured I would google to see who else had already written about them. +KN and changethethought posted about this in July haha.
Stereogum revealed the album cover and the tracklist a couple weeks ago and now another track from the album has hit the net. Gamma Ray. After hearing Chem Trails and now Gamma Ray it’s safe to say that my hopes are pretty darn high at this point. The album comes out in about two weeks!!! I can’t wait!
The first track from Beck’s 8th studio album, Modern Guilt just hit the net! Production by everybody’s grandma’s favourite producer Dangermouse. This album should be amazing (fingers-crossed it’s not Sea Change Beck and it’s not The Odd Couple Dangermouse).
