Strava is a popular GPS program used by runners and cyclists to track their workouts. Victoria, British Columbia-based artist Stephen Lund uses the program to create these “GPS Doodles” instead. Pedalling an average of 70 kilometres in a single day for each design, Lund completed 70 doodles last year! Check out a selection of his work below!
This footage by Lucas Brunelle is intense. I love riding my bike but underground bike messenger race culture is as reckless as it gets. People will undoubtedly be excited by this and others are going to be completely infuriated by it. I’m not sharing the video below in support of this (I actually find people like this incredibly annoying when I am driving downtown in a car), I just think it’s a compelling portrait of a culture I don’t really understand.
Watch, if you dare, “Road Sage” by Benny Zenga, below.
Introducing the world’s smallest folding electric bike that actually fits inside of a backpack! The “Impossible” was just launched on Kickstarter and has already more than tripled its funding goal. It can travel up to 12.4 mph for 45 minutes or at normal speed for up to 15.6 miles. Watch the video, to see someone actually riding the bike, below.
Aurumania took a page out of the Damien Hirst handbook and built ten 24k gold plated track bikes. If that wasn’t enough they stuck 600 Swarovski crystals on each one. Price tag: $102,418.60 USD. What’s with the rubber tires? They better be made outta some extinct whale blubber or I ain’t buying it!
