Os Gemeos Paint 6 Silos in Vancouver: Duo’s Largest Mural to Date, First in Canada

os-gemeos-vancouver07

The Brazilian twin duo known as Os Gemeos are leaving a beautiful mark on Vancouver, painting six industrial Ocean Concrete silos next to the art school I graduated from. The finished mural will measure a total of 7200 square meters (23,500 square feet) making it the pairs’ largest mural to date (and their first in Canada).

The project is part of the Vancouver Biennale which has just launched an IndieGoGo to raise money to pay for the public art. The artists have donated their time, and all money raised will go towards paying for the materials and trip expenses for the artists.

I’m happy to see our city of glass finally getting some much needed colour! If you live in Vancouver, and you want to see more things like this, consider giving a few dollars to the IndieGoGo: HERE.
