New Printing Technology Allows Blind People to “See” Famous Paintings

A Spanish printing studio called Estudios Durero, has developed a printing process to create 3D versions of famous paintings so that blind people can experience them. The technique is called Didú and it essentially turns high resolution images into sculptures.

Blind and sighted visitors are invited to touch artworks at the exhibit at Madrid’s Prado Museum, Hoy toca el Prado. More images and a video clip from this wonderful project below.
