Illustrator Spotlight: Harriet Lee-Merrion

A new piece from Bristol-based illustrator Harriet Lee-Merrion. Made for the band Low Island’s forthcoming track “The Whole World Tucked Away,” the elaborate scene is an exaggeration of the everyday things we see accentuated online — from luxury lifestyles, to violence and the wonders of the natural world. As Lee-Merrion shared with us:

“I was interested in the lyric ‘sometimes you laugh, sometimes you cry’ and in response the image is a dystopian paradox; a dreamy depiction of a nuclear bomb explodes in the background, while a woman casually rides a giant hermit crab in the foreground.”
