I don’t know a lot about poetry but I really enjoy these little typewritten messages Erin Bromhead has been posting on Instagram. She’s been a contributor for Monster Children for as long as I’ve known her, and actually I think the second time we hung out we were in LA, and we both had to interview Kevin Spacey of all people.

I remember asking Mr. Spacey a question and him saying, “You have to send the elevator back down” like it was a piece of life advice I should write down. It seemed like a thoughtful answer to my question even though I couldn’t remember what I’d asked. Later that night, we were at an event and he addressed the crowd and at some point during his speech he shouted “Send the elevator back down!” and I realised he was just saying this all the time, everywhere he went, to anyone who would listen.

I don’t actually have a funny or profound ending to this story, but Erin would.
