Through a series of new paintings and sculptures, artist Erik Mark Sandberg explores the “double-edged promise of overnight fame epitomized by Los Angeles”. Sandberg presents his signature hairy characters in a surreal world framed by automotive interiors (two of the canvases are even shaped like windshields). He describes the nature in the backgrounds as “not of this world, but a cosmic form which represents the psychological terrain”.
