A selection of recent paintings by Los Angeles-based artist Jake Kean Mayman. Often addressing current U.S. affairs, Mayman offers an amalgam of concerns and timelines. As he states:
“My work seeks to gain an understanding of present events and future possibilities by examining historical precedents and parallels. Portrait and still life imagery are used to examine the role of fear and anxiety as a driving force in the American psyche.”
