A selection of recent work by Nova Scotia-based artist Amy Ordoveza. Inspired by the places that are important to her, Ordoveza’s still-life paintings present delicate paper-cut objects and tableaus that evoke details from the past:
“As I slowly build up the paint in layers, I preserve fleeting daylight, a fragile object, and fading memory in a frozen moment. I am interested in exploring themes of home, migration, and impermanence.”
