We’ve just launched the submissions gallery for our photo project, Hindsight. We’re accepting submissions until November 30th and it’s open to all of our members. We want to see your best portraits of people caught in a moment of reflection. You must ask your subject to answer one question: “Knowing what you know now, what’s one piece of advice you would give to your younger self?”
Head over to hindsight-project.com to view submissions!
We’d love to see people go out and shoot new portraits specifically for this project but if you’ve already shot a great portrait of someone that fits the theme of “a moment of reflection”, you’ll just need to ask the subject to send you their answer to the question and make sure you have their permission to share their image here.
If you’re shooting a portrait specifically for this project you should ask the subject think of their answer while you shoot the photo! This will help the subject have a natural expression on their face and also give you an opportunity to snap a photo or two with their guard down.
Please make sure you include the following things with your submission:
- Your photo (JPG format, 1200 px wide)
- Your full name
- Your subject’s first name
- Your subject’s answer to the question (not looking for an essay!)
- Your subject’s occupation
- The location of the photo
Now we’ve been giving away some goodies to people just for submitting and we promised to give away everything in the photo above (Magic Hour snapback, camera strap, Diamond logo t-shirt, stickers) to one lucky person. That lucky person is photographer, Lane Coder, who submitted this stunning image below:
