A selection of paintings by Houston, Texas-based artist and educator Bradley Kerl. Kerl’s work is inspired by his daily life, with a special appreciation for the influence of light and color on the scenes around him.

“Over the past several years I have sought to mine my day-to-day experience for the potential painterly opportunities that may or may not occur on any given day. In this way, my paintings are both a sort of autobiographical survey and an intensely formal investigation of the properties of paint. . . It’s really all about being present and poised to capture a magical moment should it present itself to me.”
