Next week our favourite arts festival, POW! WOW! Hawaii, takes over the Kaka’ako district of Honolulu (February 7-16) and this one’s a significant milestone! 2020 is the festival’s 10-year anniversary in Hawaii and will surpass 50 festivals worldwide! They’ve teamed up with Paragon Books to release “POW! WOW! WORLDWIDE! 10 Years of International Street Art – Volume One”, a 256-page hardcover book surveying many of the murals from the past. I even wrote a little something in it.
There will be close to 36 visiting artists and 49 local artists creating art all over the place, artist talks with Tristan Eaton and Jay Howell (who will also be doing a cartooning workshop), and the 7th Annual Exploring the new Contemporary Movement art show curated by Andrew Hosner of Thinkspace.
