Born and raised in New York City, photographer Paolo Morales moved to Virginia for a job in 2015, where he made the photographs in his series “Between You and Me” in response to his new suburban surroundings. “In this work, I am preoccupied by what I look like alone, and landscapes as visual synonyms for emotion”, he explains.
