Photographer Matthew Carroll credits the extensive time he’s spent living overseas for his keen interest in people, their cultures and constructed surroundings. Currently based in Indiana, he grew up living in Latin America and the UK before moving to the United State with his family at age fourteen. Over the last decade, he has also spent a significant amount of time in Southeast China. Through portraiture and landscapes, his work documents the happenstances of everyday life. He is currently working on long-term projects in the American Midwest and in Shenzhen, China.
