A selection of images from “Trapdoor” by American photographer William Keihn. Currently pursuing an MFA in photography from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Keihn describes the series as a lyrical meditation on the long-dealt myths of American identity pushed through a filter of remembrance for his own upbringing in a working class family in the deindustrializing Midwest of the 1980s and 90s.
“Trapdoor” was published as a book and exhibited in San Francisco in 2017.
