Of the work Liu says, “I am exploring a world without the conventional notion of space and time, a world in-between places. These surreal landscapes evoke feelings of nostalgia and futuristic hope, created in reference to the conventions of Sino-Asian stereotypes, childhood memories, and urban life. I’m interested in surfacing the contradictory emotions of being in multiple places at once, to explore how understanding this dynamic brings a new perspective to debates on the value of diversity.” Have a look at the series below.
