Photographer Spotlight: David Nana Opoku Ansah

Born, raised and currently based in Ghana, photographer and filmmaker David Nana Opoku Ansah makes work that centers around documenting a deeply personal narrative of community and all things human, especially blackness.

In 2019, Ansah made history as the premier filmmaker to direct and shoot the very first sneaker campaign for Nike in Ghana. Following this success, he was selected as one of the top three emerging photographers for the Independent Photo contest. Sincere passion is at the root of his work, and he insists that “all things are worth photographing.” With a desire to capture the world around him with a captivating sincerity, he approaches every new project, commission, or vision with the same unwavering passion and dedication.
