A selection of recent paintings by artist Sophie Lourdes Knight. Originally from California, Knight currently lives and works in London while working on her MFA at the Slade School of Fine Art. Knight’s multidisciplinary practice explores notions of failure and reconfiguring what success could be (i.e. failure as success, as subject, as object). Her subject matter often involves constructions of loose characters and objects inhabiting barren interiors and exteriors that touch on themes of familiarity, sentiment, and the bizarre.
