Ed Gorwell is a photographer based in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. Drawn to the objects, landscapes, and people of his daily life, Gorwell finds beauty in the mundane. He is interested in the imprints people leave behind on the spaces they occupy—an unmade bed, a sweatshirt draped over a chair, cosmetics left on a bathroom basin—this quiet evidence of human presence is woven throughout his work. “In general, I think making a habit of taking photos creates a habit of appreciating and seeing what’s in front of you,” he explains, “whether you’re standing on top of a mountain, exploring a foreign city, or just making a cup of tea in your kitchen.”
Ed Gorwell is one of 60+ photographers featured in our new photo book, Magic Hour. Check it out in our shop, and see more of his work below.
