A selection of images from “Out For A Drive” by Jersey City, New Jersey-based photographer Sean Madden. Bringing together various images made between 2017 and 2020, the body of work came together during lockdown as a product test for a bookmaking company. Spanning many different locations, both on jobs and while running errands around his home state of New Jersey, the images in “Out For A Drive” are united by their quiet sensibility for color and composition. Inspired by “the golden age of photography” in the 60’s and 70’s, Madden strives to create a bridge to modern times — “to see what’s surviving, and what’s deteriorating and what’s going to be nostalgic 40-plus years from now.”
