Growing up in the community of South Los Angeles with two fashion designer parents, LA-based artist Kohshin Finley describes his venture into art and a creative life as “inevitable.” Inspired by love within his community, Finley’s recent oil paintings encapsulate a sense of joy and tenderness. “It was important for me to explore these partnerships of beauty in the midst of the historic years we’ve been living in,” he explains. “To reflect and immortalize my friends in these large-scale artworks is paramount to my practice as a way to document what love can and does look like in 2021.”
