A selection of images by Colorado-based photographer and cinematographer Ben Ward. Employing a documentary approach to the human experience and the changing social and environmental landscape of the American West, Ward’s photographs often depict minimal, unfamiliar scenes—stripped of context and shrouded in darkness, creating a sense of isolation and tension. His latest photobook, “I Dream of Dust” (Temper Books, 2021) takes place in rural eastern Colorado, and is available here.
