Born in Konstanz, Germany, artist Timur Lukas completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, and currently lives and works in Augsburg. In his series of large-format paintings, Lukas depicts the impression of nature in days gone by. Drawing from childhood memories of visits to his grandmother, Lukas reduces each scene to a series of fragments made up of layers of loose brush strokes in a variety of colors. Blending fact and fiction, his pictorially distorted recollections are what he calls “a feverish dream of memory.”
