Sander Coers is a photographer based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. In his ongoing series, “Blue Mood (Al Mar),” Coers creates a tender portrait of a generation. Steeped in nostalgia for the sultry summer days of his youth spent in Zeeland, the project visualizes the vulnerability of growing up, the transformation to adulthood, and the search for love and self-acceptance. Exploring and celebrating the melancholy of adolescence, the story takes place in a colorful, dream-like world—a hallucinative landscape reflecting his own personal stories and those of his friends and contemporaries.
