A selection of work by Kenyan photographer Joseph Munyao Mutuku Baraka. His surreal figurative paintings depict the physical qualities of his subjects alongside imagined and perceived representations of their personalities. Bringing together aspects of technique, color, pattern, and various objects, he communicates the essence of the people he has chosen to photograph and then paint, using many parts captured in a photoshoot and assimilating them into one painting.
