A selection of images by Brooklyn, New York-based photographer Nikolai Hagen. Primarily centered around the present moment, or at times his struggle with it, Hagen’s work is an intuitive response to the world around him. Though he often considers the greater meaning of his work, he has come to understand his practice as more reflexive than conceptual. His striking portraits capture his subjects with an attuned eye for the subtleties of everyday life.
