Photographer Whitney Hayes (previously featured here) spent her summer working with The Highlands Natural Pool in Ringwood, New Jersey, documenting what she describes as “truly a magical place.” The pool is an unexpected oasis in the middle of a forest — run by a non-profit, it is largely maintained by a dedicated group of board members who volunteer their time. True to its origins, the members maintain a chemical-free pool that is kind to the environment, welcoming all to enjoy its natural beauty.
