A selection of images from Raul Guillermo’s ongoing series “Sin titulo.” Guillermo is a Peruvian documentary and fine art photographer based in Paris, France. “Sin titulo” was started in 2021 with the intention of exploring Guillermo’s own experience of masculinity. Here Guillermo focuses on the stages and relationships through which men and women lead gendered lives. He also hopes to encourage other men to embrace different facets of their masculinity. Rather than asserting that masculinity must be a certain way, Guillermo likes the idea of creating a space where a man can be open about himself without feeling judged by other men.
“By making these images in various regions of Peru, I was capable to initiate a dialogue with strangers who posed in front of my camera. I can affirm that once the barrier of uncertainty was crossed, there was an intense feeling of freedom and release. Something that maybe all man need to be what we ‘need to be.'”
