A selection of drawings from Vietnamese artist Sim Sim. Currently based in France, Sim Sim explores ideas of melancholia and memory. He often depicts his subjects on their daily commute, with nocturnal or neon lights, conveying a sense of emptiness and the longing associated with loneliness:
“My art is an homage to the feelings of isolation one can experience in a city.”
Sim Sim primarily uses a sketchbook that acts as a diary or window into his thoughts and experiences. His work seeks to immortalize the fragility of the fleeting moments that nevertheless leave an indelible mark. See more below.
