Artist Spotlight: Robert Campbell MacKenzie

A selection of work by American artist Robert Campbell MacKenzie. Mackenzie received his BA in Graphic Design concentrating in Animation from San Jose State University. Currently based in London, his work is deeply influenced by the visual inventory of objects and patterns he records in travel sketchbooks.

“I am interested in using art as an instrument to address difficult and nuanced conversations. My paintings often reference distorted narratives where history, fiction, reality and myth bleed into one another. In these works, I choose to offset blue and red colour channels, because painting the misalignment in these narratives is as interesting to me as depicting the narrative itself.”
