A new project from New York City-based photographer Rochelle Marie Adam. Published by Friend Editions, “Laser Copy” brings together portraits and city scenes photographed across New York. The collection moves between people and place through small moments, gestures, and everyday encounters. The images are quiet by design, framed via observation rather than narrative, with the city appearing gradually across the sequence.
“The project grew out of my editing process. I print laser copies early and work from the physical prints before making final selections. The publication presents the work at that stage, before refinement or retouching, letting the images exist in that exact in-between moment. That stage, with the prints, the selections, and the way images meet on the page, is what gives the work its character and energy.”
